The Z-Saber is one of Zero's weapons in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, based on the iconic weapon of his original counterpart in the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero series. With it, Zero can swing a green energy sword to deal damage to enemies up close. Despite its limited range, the Z-Saber can hit targets multiple times in one swing, and it ignores enemy shields. While using the Z-Saber on the ground, pressing the fire button repeatedly will cause Zero to swing it again, up to a maximum of three times. These added swings don't cost weapon energy, but leave Zero open to attack by briefly locking him in place.
If the Shot Eraser upgrade is purchased from Reggae at Dr. Wily's Secret Bunker, the Z-Saber gains the ability to destroy projectiles, though only if the projectile in question is able to be reflected.
Like all of Zero's weaponry, the specific properties of the Z-Saber change depending on which of the five chips are currently equipped, but no matter what chip is in use, it remains a shield-piercing melee weapon that has more power than the long-ranged Z-Buster.
By default, the Z-Saber does 1 point of damage to all enemies per hit. Against Joes, Mets, and Shield Attackers, however, it does 4 points of damage when not equipped with a chip.
