―Note in the code for Pierobot's gear, Megamix Engine

Pierobot is an enemy from Mega Man 2. It is a circus robot that balances on a gear.

Pierobot was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level contest, but it didn't appear anywhere it that game.

Pierobot returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Something Original, Quint Stage, Cursor Curse, and Conveyor Mayhem, as well as the Tier X stages So Good and Swiss Hotel, and the Pit of Pits sub-levels "Magic Crash-Pit Ride" and "Typical Miniboss Fights". In "Typical Miniboss Fights", Pierobot appears without its gear; this is the only time this occurs.

Although it went entirely unused as an enemy in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, in that game a Pierobot appears as an NPC in Tier 10. The gear has a separate NPC appearance on the SS Elroy, in Sarge's Special Weapons Bootcamp. The latter serves to explain the mechanics of the weapon wheel function.

In Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, Pierobot appeared in the entries mechanical factory and Rec Man, and the NEO Pit of Pits sublevels "Clown Rain" and "Conveyor Mini Mayhem".

Behavior

At first, Pierobot's gear will float in mid-air, with Pierobot itself nowhere to be seen. Once Mega Man gets close, Pierobot will fall from the top of the screen, landing directly on the gear. The gear and Pierobot will then drop down, and move forward along the ground.

If the gear is destroyed while Pierobot is on it, the Pierobot will fall off the screen. If the Pierobot is defeated before the gear, the gear will remain in whatever state it was already in (such as hanging in mid-air if the Pierobot was defeated before the gear fell, or moving forwards if the Pierobot was destroyed after the gear began moving).

The gear-less Pierobot seen in "Typical Miniboss Fights" is spawned by Eddie, and flies off the screen in a parabolic arc.
