Kaminari Kogoro is an enemy from Mega Man 7. It is a small pit-dwelling robot that can generate lightning when in rainstorms.

Kaminari Kogoro was first available with the release of the Megamix Engine, and thusly appeared in the devkits for all games using it. The enemy's game debut was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, which used it in Scorched Factory. A single Kaminari Kogoro appears in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level as an NPC on the SS Elroy, but otherwise was entirely unused. It returned in the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 entry Frenzy Reactor, but made further appearances in that game via the Weapon Tutorials and the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "AA Game".

Behavior

Kaminari Kogoros wait at the bottom of the screen for Mega Man to come close to their location. Once he does so, they fly up towards the top of the screen before falling back down in a sine wave pattern. If a Tel Tel's rainstorm is in effect, however, it will emit a large bolt of lightning beneath it before falling back down. Once it hits the bottom of the screen, it will repeat its attack pattern.

By setting the doesLightning variable to true via creation code, Kaminari Kogoro can generate lightning even if a rainstorm isn't present.
