"Spider that crawls on ceilings and falls when megaman is close, if placed on the ground it will jump towards megaman inmediately. When its not on the ceiling it will randomly choose bewteen 2 and 1 jump"
―Note in Deispider's code, Megamix Engine

Deispider is an enemy from Mega Man 9. It is a spider robot that crawls on ceilings and jumps after targets.

Deispider was first made available with the Megamix Engine, and subsequently the devkits for all games built with it. Its game debut was in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, which used it in String Theory and Null and Void. It wasn't used in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, but a Deispider appears as an NPC in Tier 10.

Deispider returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, in the entries Hazard Hydro and Cursed Darkness, the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "Les Cles De Fort Boyard", and the Shrine of Nebula room "Watch for Rolling Rockmen".

Behavior

Deispider crawls along ceilings until Mega Man draws close to them, at which point it drops to the ground and pursues him by jumping. While resting on the ground, it randomly chooses between jumping once, or jumping twice in succession, it always jumps a set distance unless if there is a wall.
