"The base of their pole vault is invulnerable to attack and shields them while they charge Mega Man. The pole vault can be destroyed once the Bubukan dismount."
―Note in Bubukan's code, Megamix Engine

Bubukan is an enemy from Mega Man 3. It is a pole-vaulting robot with a spring for a torso, originally created for the Robot Olympics by Dr. Light.

Bubukan was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Mix & Match, Something Original, and Jungle Base, as well as in Null and Void. It saw further use in the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Level Coptar Man, the remade iteration of Flashback Database in Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered, and in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero's version of Null and Void. Although it made no appearances as an enemy in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, a Bubukan is present as an NPC in Tier 6.

Bubukan returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 for the entries Top Man 2: Spin or Go Home and Ninja of the Night, as well as the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "Olympic Assault".

Behavior

Bubukan will run forward. When it gets close enough, it will leap from its pole vault, then continue running in Mega Man's direction.

By default, Bubukans are orange, but by setting "col = 1" in creation code, they will turn red.
