Hunter Type B is a boss from Mega Man IV, appearing partway through the Wily Battleship. It is one of two Hunter robots fought in the stage, both being modified from Octopus Batteries. This Hunter crawls on surfaces alongside a copy, while counterattacking if damaged while its eye is closed.

Hunter Type B is one of the devkit bosses present in the Megamix Engine, and is set to appear as a devkit boss in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3.

Battle

Hunter Type B will start the battle by creating a copy of itself, which shares health with the original. The two Hunters will then crawl along the walls, ceilings, and floors in opposite directions from each other. During the battle, one of the Hunters will have its eye open, and the other will have its eye closed; which one has an open or closed eye alternates. Unlike in Mega Man IV, if the one with an open eye takes damage, it will shoot a projectile at Mega Man.

Trivia

  • Hunter Type B's name and green colour scheme were invented for the Megamix Engine, as a way of distinguishing the two Hunter variants from each other.
