Shield Attacker is an enemy from Mega Man 4. It is a tall flying robot with a shield on its front.
Shield Attacker was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the entries Midnight Snow, Napalm Forest and Caves, Under Construction, and Thunderclyffe Plant, as well as the Wily stage Dr. Wily's Incinerator Chute. Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered also adds it to the redesigned Wily stages Be the Bigger Person and Flashback Database.
It returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in 13 entries. It also appeared in the Wily stages Outer Space, Inner Sanctum, and Reality Core, the Tier X stage Nightwalk Castle, the Pit of Pits rooms "Gambly Night", "Game Over - Return of Fire", "Mega Man a - Area 3" (where it is reskinned), "Spinning Top Disposal Room", "The Top 10 Most Commonly Used Enemies, In Increasing Order" (where it is placed as number five), and "Up And Down", and in Null and Void.
Behavior
Shield Attackers will fly straight forward, turning around when they hit a wall or an invisible stopper. Only a select few weapons can damage it from the front, but it is fully vulnerable from behind.
