- "Her majesty had a vested interest in showcasing the resolve of our Queen's Guard...and struck a deal with Ernest Will to craft an extra trial for the tournament-goers. So, Mega Man... I look forward to meeting you inside. Don't hold back!"
- ―King Man, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3
King Man is a Robot Master designed by Cruise Elroy for the Make a Good Mega Man Robot Master contest, and the boss of his namesake level. Designed after a rotationally-symmetric King playing card, his job was to manage the Queen's Guard in London.
King Man was submitted for Category C (Legless), and ultimately won the contest with a score of 215, five points ahead of second-place entrant Ghost Woman.
In-game, he can be found in his "Royal Court", through a mirror teleporter in the hidden backstage room of Tier 8. He floats in place next to his level’s teleporter, warmly greeting Mega Man when he arrives before encouraging him to give it a try. A condensed version of his submitted biography is among the many stories Tako Trash is able to tell.
Strategy
King Man follows a continuous pattern:
- First, he lowers himself to just above the floor and charges across the screen four times, changing direction after each time he leaves the screen.
- After the fourth dash, he will float around the arena in a wave pattern, summoning a Royal Guard shield and firing slow bullets at Mega Man. The Royal Guard will gradually expand and contract before its four symbols are fired off at straight trajectories.
- Once the Royal Shield is discarded, he will rapidly spin in place, firing "spurts" of three bullets in two directions that gradually rotate. After six sets of "spurts", he will fly upright and go back to his charging attack.

Original submission bio
| King Man was created to manage the Queen's Guard in London. Although most of his work involves coordinating and training soldiers to protect Her Majesty and her grounds, King Man also does a bit of watchman's work himself every now and then. Even though he may act rather cocky and egotistical at times, King Man has always been a loyal and honest guardsman.
Each crown on King Man has a thruster that he uses to fly around. His main weapon of choice, the Royal Guard, consists of four unique drones, with each one resembling a different playing card suit. The drones act as a means of non-lethally disabling human provokers by pinning them down, although they can act a bit more deadly against robots if needed. Despite having two bodies, King Man is considered a single entity, not unlike Search Man. Despite being a top-of-the-line guard, Wily still managed to get his hands on King Man and reprogram him. Instead of immediately having him turn to his side, however, Wily kept King Man's altered programming under wraps and had him act as a double agent, gaining intel on important locations in the United Kingdom and reporting any weak spots in their army. Wily has been using this information to carefully prepare for his next attempt at world domination, and considering the amount of info that he has, it would be no surprise if he attempted to take control there first. "Stand back from the Queen's Guard!" Weapon: Royal Guard: Press the fire button to summon four playing card suits. They orbit around you like Jewel Satellite, but each individual orbit has its own "health bar" instead of the collective whole. Press the fire button again to fire any suits that are still active. Each one homes in on the closest target. -- Boss Pattern -- |
