Recoil Recon is the third level on the path to the Flame Chip in Chapter 2 of Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero. Taking place within Sunset Siege from the first festival, Zero finds the place marked for demolition with dynamite-emblazoned walls scattered all across the building. By shooting these, he can send them flying in one direction, potentially causing others nearby to do the same until they hit a solid wall and explode. Unfortunately for him, many Bomb Throwns inside can do the same. Otherwise, the level is very short and easy to speedrun.
Strategy
The level starts in a very short outside area with two Bomb Throwns and an Explosive Wall blocking a downwards passage, forcing Zero to shoot it out of the way. What follows is a series of rooms with Explosive Walls needing to be shot out of the way, with some even being used to damage enemies like Battons, Beaks, and Gachappons. Some rooms show off the ability of moving Explosive Walls to set off other walls, with one dropping a large Bolt offscreen if it isn't grabbed quickly. A few rooms down, a long bridge of horizontal Explosive Walls appears, with Bomb Throwns using their bombs to knock parts of it in different directions. If the Z-Saber is used while standing on these walls, it will cause the block under Zero to fly downwards.
After a checkpoint, bottomless pits start appearing near the Explosive Walls, forcing caution with Zero's shots and his positioning. Otherwise, he may be knocked into a pit by his own attacks, or by an errant bomb. This is especially true towards the end, where multiple Explosive Wall bridges are positioned over bottomless pits and/or have Bomb Throwns and other Explosive Walls nearby. A recommended strategy is to move quickly as possible through these areas, rarely stopping to fight bulkier enemies like Gachappon or Bomb Thrown. At the end of the level, several rows of Explosive Walls barricade an Energy Element.
