Battle
Aether Man is an optional boss, whose battle takes place in the Akashic Record. It has a twisted sky background, low gravity and unstable floor. He is constantly floating and uses a wide array of divine attacks for a very tough battle.
+
Aether Man is battled in an arena with low gravity and a cloudy background. This low gravity is needed to reach Aether Man himself, who spends the majority of the battle in the air. He boasts a wide variety of attacks, but initially only uses four of them at a time, never using the same attack twice in a row. Many of them are also countered by Mega Man's own Special Weapons:

PHASE 1
+
* Aether Nova: Aether Man absorbs the background, compresses it into a sphere, then fires it down at Mega Man. Upon hitting the ground, the sphere temporarily destroys a small portion of it while erupting into a large pseudo-black hole that pulls Mega Man towards it. If Mega Man is pulled inside, he will take continuous damage as long as he remains inside of it. Even after it vanishes, the pull effect persists for a short while. Aether Man will always use this attack at the start, and repeats it after attacking six times with the following three attacks.
* Creates a wargate above himself and releases a stream of fast energy shots aiming at Mega Man. Sometimes he uses this attack with barrier on.
+
* Celestial Reflector: Aether Man surrounds himself with a barrier that releases four explosions outwards when shot. He will then randomly choose to either charge towards Mega Man five times in a row (telegraphed by the screen turning darker), or go directly into Star Arrow. The barrier is largely impenetrable, but will eventually disappear. The Break Dash is the only weapon capable of penetrating the barrier, but unless Aether Man performs the charging attack, he cannot be hit with it.
* Performs 5 fast ramming attacks aiming at Mega Man. Can do this only with barrier on.
+
* Star Arrow: A small portal opens up above Aether Man and shoots a flurry of small meteors out in a sweeping pattern. The meteors explode on contact with the ground, but can be destroyed with the Laser Trident. Said weapon can also be fired into the portal itself, neutralising the attack entirely. If Aether Man did not perform his charging attack after using Celestial Reflector, it will be active for the entire duration of this attack.
* Disappears and spawns 5 light clones around Mega Man, that follow his movement, before setting off in his direction one by one. They pass through him harmlessly, but drain his all weapon ammo instead, exploding after travelling far enough.
+
* Astral Kaleidoscope: Aether Man teleports away while five light copies of himself surround Mega Man, following him wherever he goes. After a few seconds, the copies fly inwards to attack him, changing their angle beforehand if need be. If a copy touches Mega Man, he will gradually lose ammunition from all his Special Weapons so long as the two are in contact. The Water Shield is able to destroy the copies.

Once his first health bar is depleted, he charged up energy and disappears, spawning 2 clones of Arcane Man on either side of Mega Man's current position. They jump alongside him and attack with black holes (that don't block projectiles anymore): left one throws them in a rising curve and right one spawns them above Mega Man. Each clone has their own health, destroying them causes Aether Man to reappear with a new attack set.
+
Once Aether Man's first healthbar is depleted, he charges up energy and teleports away, spawning two clones of Arcane Man on either side of Mega Man's current position. Both clones attack by throwing black holes at him; the left clone's curve upwards, while the right clone's travel a short distance before warping above Mega Man and dropping down. Whenever Mega Man jumps, the clones jump alongside him. After destroying both clones, Aether Man returns, attacks with Aether Nova again, then uses a new set of attacks. From this point on, the damage he takes from most weapons is also slightly reduced.

PHASE 2
+
* Both Aether Nova and Celestial Reflector remain in Aether Man's attack rotation, and are mostly unchanged, with the exception that Aether Man can no longer charge at Mega Man during the latter move.
* Charges up Aether Saber and performs 3 consecutive, vertical slashes in a quick succession, that cover the entire screen. He warps to left and right side between each slash, appearing whenever Mega Man is now. The slash itself can also bounce Mega Man up, should it hit him.
+
* Cosmic Prominence: Aether Man charges up energy, then fires a series of large purple energy pillars forwards, similarly to the Magnetic Shockwave. Said weapon is also capable of neutralising the pillars if the two collide.
* Fires off what appears to be huge, purple Magnetic Shockwave, taht can be avoided by standing between pillars.
+
* Doom Meteor: Aether Man warps to a high point while the sky turns red and up to nine large meteors rain down, falling towards Mega Man. Upon hitting the ground, the meteors release giant explosions. The Tornado Blow can blow away the meteors if used. Aether Man sometimes performs this attack after using Celestial Reflector, rendering him invulnerable until the attack ends.
* Ascends, turns the sky red and starts rumbling. Periodically, a meteor will fall down in Mega Man's direction, causing a huge explosion upon hitting the ground. This lasts for about 7 seconds. He can also put up the barrier before this.
+
* Divine Blade: The background darkens briefly as Aether Man readies a blade. He then performs three consecutive slashes, each one telegraphed by a horizontal beam of light, and each one matching Mega Man's current vertical position. The low gravity means he can easily juggle Mega Man if he lands a hit. However, the Ice Wall is able to block each slash.

BOTH PHASES
+
Upon reaching 10 HP or less, Aether Man warps to the center of the arena, and after gathering energy, he uses one last attack: a series of black circles intermittently implode all across the room, then emit a damaging dark explosion at their location. Aether Man himself is immobile, but will occasionally put up a Celestial Reflector to temporarily protect himself. Each hit he takes at this point causes the background to briefly turn to static.
* Protects himself with a divine barrier, that everytime is shot, retaliates with 4 chains of explosion on + pattern. It can only be destroyed by Break Dash.

* Warps to the right side of the room, then literally swirls down the background into a small orb and holds it. When any projectile is shot at him or when you jump towards hims as well, he will warp to the upper left side. He can do that again, where he warps to the upper center of the room (he won't warp anymore). After a few seconds, Aether Man releases the orb into Mega Man's last position. It flies slowly, but will create a giant vortex that sucks Mega Man in and can even destroy a floor segment for some time. It can also detonate on direct contact with him too. It drains his health very quickly while inside and lingers for up to 8 seconds, with a few seconds of only suction effect lingering. Aether Man always starts the battle with this move.

When his health reaches 10 hp, he warps to the center of the room, charges up energy to the max and releases his final attack: a series of 4 scattered explosions, which will last until he's defeated. He also periodically puts up the barrier. For a cosmetic effect, with every health point lost, the sky of Akashic Record distorts and gradually turns white. Upon defeat, he erases the entire void along with himself forever.

―Aether Man, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3

Aether Man is a Robot Master from Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, found in ArcaneMan -CHAOS TOWER- (CERN HQ Remains). Per the level's lore, Aether Man is not a "true" robot, but rather the will of "The Grand Scheme" using Arcane Man's body as a vessel. He seeks to bring all humans back to their "place of origin". Aether Man is an optional boss who does not need to be encountered to clear the level; however, defeating him awards the level's fifth and final Trickster Token.

When Mega Man uses the Divine Beam Parallel Weapon, an apparition of Aether Man will float behind him for as long as the Shoot button is held.

Battle

Aether Man is battled in an arena with low gravity and a cloudy background. This low gravity is needed to reach Aether Man himself, who spends the majority of the battle in the air. He boasts a wide variety of attacks, but initially only uses four of them at a time, never using the same attack twice in a row. Many of them are also countered by Mega Man's own Special Weapons:
