- "Victor Heights: putting the "inn" in "winner" since 20XX."
- ―Travel brochure description, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3
The Victor Heights hotel is a location in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, serving as the game's main hub. It is a grand hotel that acts as the primary venue for the Worldwide Sixth Sponsored Robot Tournament, and has numerous amenities for contestants courtesy of Ernest Will. At the start of the game, Mega Man arrives at the hotel along with the rest of his friends and family, and throughout the game he will frequently return to the hotel as the tournament progresses.
In contrast to previous hubs, Victor Heights is fairly small and easy to navigate, but is still full of shops and side areas to explore, with a wealth of NPCs that come and go as Mega Man gathers Tier Ranks.
Contents
Points of Interest
Victor Heights can be divided into five sub-areas, each with its own noteworthy features. In all the areas (save the entrance), an elevator is present to take Mega Man to any floor of his choosing.
Entrance
The entrance to the Victor Heights hotel leads to a street. Mega Man starts the game here.
Bus Stop
To the right of the hotel entrance is a bus stop, from which Mega Man can travel to the various tiers and other hubs. His initial visit will also earn him the Travel Brochure, with which he can travel to them from any point.
[1F] Lobby
The first floor is the lobby of the hotel, which mostly includes NPCs that give information.
Help Desk
Sitting at the help desk is Iota, who will give meta information about the contest when spoken to. By asking about the judges, Iota will give the Phased Key, which is necessary to open the judges' room in the hotel plaza. To Iota's right is Fan, who will give a recap about the plots of past MaGMML games (including the fan-fangame MaGMML: Chapter Pepsi).
Frisk Cannon
After collecting one Energy Element, a Frisk Cannon will rest near the exit outside. When spoken to, it will frisk Mega Man and note how many important milestones he has currently obtained, such as Elements and Trickster Tokens collected, upgrades purchased, achievements awarded etc., making it useful as a means of gauging what's missing for 100% completion.
[1F] Bar
The second half of the lobby, this area is home to the Victor Heights Bar & Buffet. However, it is closed until Mega Man earns his first Tier Rank. The NPCs here will rotate as the game progresses, and several of the rival contestants will often appear here.
Buffet
At the buffet are two pairs of NPCs, whom will appear at random whenever Mega Man visits the area. These include cameos from previous MaGMML games like Sophie Hyde and Joseph, to more outlandish choices like Kirby and King Dedede.
Idol Woman
Performing in the buffet is Idol Woman, who acts as the game's jukebox. By speaking to her, she can play any song in the game (although some tracks are initially locked). She can also be spoken to for gameplay hints, including ones regarding the location of items.
Trophy Room
Within a room labeled "Trophies" is Cart Man's room, where he will give Mega Man the Achievement Booklet upon entering. Here, Mega Man can check what achievements he's earned, as well as speak to Cart Man for hints about how to earn further achievements. After starting the Toad Dummy sidequest, a Toad Dummy will appear here and give hints to the location of undestroyed Toad Dummies in the tiers.
[2F] Plaza
The second floor contains the hotel plaza. Here, Mega Man can find a wide variety of shops and attractions, although some aren't initially open to him.
Costume Shop
At Maker Man's costume shop, Mega Man can purchase and try on various costumes. After collecting six Tier Ranks, the Costume Lord floats outside the shop's entrance, and will offer hints towards unlocking costumes that Mega Man hasn't unlocked yet.
Ms. Quiz
The first member of the Quiz Clan, Ms. Quiz, can be found here, and when spoken to she will give Mega Man a basic quiz when spoken to. By successfully answering her questions, she will award him with the Morale Booster upgrade. Defeating her is also a prerequisite for making the Quiz Master appear at the Magic Card Casino.
Weapon Tutorials
- Main article: Weapon Tutorials
To the right of the elevator are the Weapon Tutorials, where Mega Man can learn more about his Special Weapons and practice using them in specially-designed areas.
The Thing From the Mall
This infamous mall screen will display a list of game-wide statistics when spoken to, including Mega Man's most and least used weapons, the total number of deaths since the game's start, the total runtime, and much more.
Judges' Room
At the far right of the plaza is a locked door that can only be opened with the Phased Key; inside is a room containing information on the contest judges, complete with NPC representations of them. A large monitor in the room displays additional information. The right of the room contains a teleporter that accesses the entries in the order they were compiled in for the judges; however, the entry must be beaten first before it can be accessed from this teleporter.
Cheat Shop
Hidden within a slide passage is Eddie's cheat shop; initially it is blocked by two Reflect Blocks, but it will open up after earning three Tier Ranks. Mega Man can buy cheats from Eddie here, and test them for himself in a large room behind his counter.
Lord of Much Joking
After earning five Tier Ranks, the Lord of Much Joking appears outside the cheat shop, and will sell the various Humor Buster varieties, as well as the Humor Word. By purchasing his entire stock, Mega Man will also unlock the Cut Man costume.
Doc Robot
Doc Robot will sell Mega Man Parallel Weapons, which reskin one of his Special Weapons into a variant themed after a Robot Master from the entry submissions. However, at least one of their origin stages (e.g. It Was Rated Arr or Mafia Man's Gambling Palace) must be cleared first before Doc Robot will appear. Purchasing all the Parallel Weapons will unlock the Quint costume.
[37F] Hotel Room
Mega Man's very own room in the hotel. Here, he can decorate it with plushies found across the game. Roll is also here, and Mega Man can speak to her to learn more about plushies, as well as trade three duplicate plushies he may have for one new one. Also present is a Metall named Helmutt, who will offer to repaint the room in a number of different palettes.
[50F] Roof
A location exclusive to Proto Man Mode. It serves an identical purpose with Mega Man's Hotel Room. Instead of Roll, Kalinka is the one to talk to about plushies, as well as trade three duplicate plushies Proto Man may have for one new one. Helmutt is also available for repainting the room. Plot-wise, Proto Man chooses the roof of the hotel to remain discreet.
[B13] Secret Lab
A location exclusive to Bass Mode. It also serves an identical purpose with Mega Man's Hotel Room. Instead of Roll, Reggae is the one to talk to about plushies, as well as trade three duplicate plushies Bass may have for one new one. Helmutt is also available for repainting the room. Plot-wise, Ernest Will tells Bass that the secret lab is accessible to those who have VIP membership.
