'''''Make a Good Mega Man Level 3''''' (or '''''MaGMML3''''' for short) is the third installment in the ''Make a Good Mega Man Level'' series, co-hosted by [[Mick Galbani]] and [[ACESpark]]. Like its predecessors, the game features community-created levels submitted as part of a level design contest. The contest is judged by Mick Galbani, ACESpark, [[Flashman85]], [[Pachy]], and [[Shinryu]]. Several elements from ''[[Make a Good Mega Man Level 2]]'', including [[costumes]] and [[NEO Pit of Pits|the Pit of Pits]], have returned in ''MaGMML3''.

The 2018 contest officially began on September 22, with November 25 being the submission deadline. The public beta for the [[Megamix Engine]], which serves as the basis for ''MaGMML3''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s engine, was released on July 11th, while its official full release was on September 15th, a week before the submission period. The full game was finally released on June 9th, 2024.

 

 

Upon arriving, he and all the other entrants are tasked with earning a [[Tier Rank]] from each of the tournament's fifteen gauntlets, with the finalists facing off against each other in Ernest Stadium for the grand prize. As Mega Man proceeds through the tournament, he comes across several other prominent competitors: the battle-hungry [[Hunter Woman]], the down to earth construction robot [[Forge Woman]], the irritable challenge-seeking speedster [[Presto]], the unintelligible [[Element Man]], and the well-intentioned but vindictive [[Cerberus Man]]. Also present is Mega Man's old rival, [[Bass]], who barely tolerates the event and only wants to fight Mega Man as soon as possible.

 

 

 

At the awards ceremony, the finalists are named as Mega Man, Forge Woman, Cerberus Man, Hunter Woman, Bass, Element Man, Presto, and an unknown eighth finalist. Bass publicly accuses Mega Man of using fake Tier Ranks to enter, but after his ranks are checked and declared to be legitimate, Bass angrily yells at Ernest before the latter disqualifies him. When the other finalists argue about the tournament being rigged, Dr. Wily unveils himself but declares that the prize is real, before sending them to the [[Wily Stadium]] – the true location of the tournament finals. Mega Man makes his way to the Final Gauntlet, but is ambushed by Bass, who reveals that Dr. Wily had planned to humiliate Mega Man in front of the world by framing him as a cheater, only to abort the plan at the last moment. After being defeated, Bass opens a path to the Final Gauntlet so that Mega Man can defeat Wily.

 

After defeating the other finalists (including an encounter with the eighth finalist, revealed to be [[Proto Man]]), Mega Man reaches Dr. Wily in the center of the stadium. Wily admits that he abandoned his plan after stopping Dr. Regal due to how cheap it would have been, and that he'd rather triumph through clever scheming and his own genius. Operating [[Wily Machine SPIRE|his most powerful machine yet]], Mega Man and Wily do battle, with the Blue Bomber coming out on top once again. However, the crowd cheers for both men. Dr. Light walks onto the field and explains Wily has always been a good showman, admitting defeat in that regard. Energized by this revelation and concession by his lifelong rival, Wily vows to keep the world entertained by doing similar feats of spectacle, with Mega Man agreeing to that to uphold everlasting peace.

 

Following the tournament's climax, the event enters an encore period as Wily resumes the Ernest Will identity. Once Mega Man has fully completed every gauntlet, Dr. Regal uses the head of his decoy Wily to attract the hero's attention to his latest scheme: to unearth an ancient evil from the [[Tier X (MaGMML3)|Grey Isles]], a region of space-time where the laws of reality are in flux, which he hopes will be as strong as the Reality Core. Traveling to the Grey Isles, Mega Man passes various trials designed to keep intruders away from where the evil sleeps, the [[Shrine of Nebula]]. After entering the Shrine, Mega Man confronts Dr. Regal as he awakens [[Nebula Grey]], an incarnation of evil who was sealed away millennia ago. However, due to his exposure to human radio and TV broadcasts, Nebula Grey has renounced his evil ways, much to the dismay of Dr. Regal who is sent away sulking. However, due to the Shrine of Nebula's security systems, Nebula Grey is forced to fight Mega Man to burn off his Dark Power to trick the system into thinking he's been resealed, so the both of them can escape. Nebula Grey takes on a smaller form so he can explore the world, while Mega Man reflects on how much the world has changed.

During the development of ''MaGMML2'', host [[snoruntpyro]] made the decision that she would not host the next contest, citing the stresses of hosting and a desire to participate in the next contest as reasons for stepping down. Mick Galbani, a community favorite for the position, stepped up to host ''MaGMML3''. Planning for the third game began even before the second game was released, and a community feedback poll following the release of ''MaGMML2'' was used to inform some of the planning for ''MaGMML3''.

On October 29, 2017, ACESpark was invited to co-host and judge ''MaGMML3'', based on the overwhelmingly positive response to his contributions to the second game. Applications for the remaining three judge slots were announced on November 6, 2017.<ref>http://magmmlcontest.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=70</ref> In Stage 1 of the application process, applicants were given three weeks to judge the seven [[MaGMML3 Judge Application Levels|''MaGMML3'' Judge Application Levels]], providing written comments and rating the levels based on a rubric. Of the 19 applicants, 11 moved on to Stage 2, where they submitted a sample of their Mega Man level design ability—either a level designed specifically for the application, or one they had already created. The submission deadline for Stage 2 was December 23, 2017; within 24 hours, Stage 2 applicants received a notification of the results, accompanied by brief comments on why they were or were not selected. At the same time, it was announced to the public that Flashman85, Pachy, and Shinryu would be judging ''MaGMML3'' alongside Mick Galbani and ACESpark.
