It is your destiny! This article contains content on an upcoming game. Beware of any potential spoilers!
Enemies are a type of non-playable character in any video game. Usually, enemies are intended to impede or completely stop the player's progress, and act in such a way. This usually entails them moving around in specific patterns, shooting projectiles at the player, chasing the player around, or countering the player's attacks, among other things. In the Mega Man, and by extension the MaGMML, series, a wide variety of enemies, usually of a robotic variety, attack Mega Man on his quest to do whatever he's supposed to do. Mega Man must defeat enemies via damaging them with his Mega Buster or Special Weapons, and upon depleting any specific enemy's health points, they will usually explode and occasionally leave an item drop behind, such as a health recharging pickup.
The series has seen an absolutely massive variety of enemies appear in all of the games, and as of MaG48HMML, every enemy from the NES and Game Boy games, as well as Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, are available for use in the contest's devkit, along with some extra content from Mega Man 7 and Mega Man 8. The massive collection makes for well over 350 enemies for users to use when making MaGMML entries.
On top of the pre-existing classic series enemies, a myriad of custom enemies have appeared throughout the series' life, either as part of an entry or as part of bonus content. Some enemies are ripped directly from other series such as the Super Mario games, while others are completely original to MaGMML.
Minibosses and bosses are more powerful or "important" forms of enemies that have their own pages. More information on enemies' specific behavior and appearances can be found on their own pages.
